It’s time to rally in Tucson again

If we rally at all, today, instead of keeping
stark asunder,
let us rally for our own sanity
and even our collective sanity.
It is so shameful to be insane
and so hideously dangerous to be at the mercy
of collective insanity.

Let us contain ourselves,
and rally together
to keep a sane core to life.

Tucson is home to one of the oldest running scooter rallies in the US. The 25th annual Fall Classic Scooter Rally is this weekend, November 9, 10, 11. It is a unique opportunity to see close to 100 vintage Vespas, Lambrettas, and other post-war scooters right here in Tucson. People come from all over the west coast for this one. If you ride one of the many awesome new scooters or just want to come see the spectacle you are more than welcome to come take part in the rally or just one or two of the many events planned for the weekend.

City people will want to join the fun Friday night with short hops from stop to stop culminating in live music downtown. If you like to ride on scenic back roads, join the ride to Nogales on Saturday. Camping isn’t for everyone, and many people will ride as far as Sonoita, Patagonia, or even the campsite and return to Tucson. Scoot Over will be following in their vintage rescue van, so don’t worry about being left behind.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of riding in a group of 100 scooters. The parties at the campsite are something else, you might even see scooters jumping the bonfire!

It is time to get on your scooter and be with your people this weekend. I’ll be looking for you. Be sure to say, “Hi”!
